This is one of the books I’m reading at the moment. It really interesting what programmers can be. Not just a robot that has to implement something that is determend by specs given to him. More people in the industry should read this book to understand that programmers need space (time and freedom) to develop their ideas. Then we will have more killer applications and programming would be recongnized as a form of Art.
The author is no other than Paul Graham, who for instance designed “Yahoo! Store” the first web-based application. After his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Havard he studied – who would think – painting in Florence…
